One Third

Slumber is bliss yet I prolong the abyss,

Hours pass with this time spent crass,

Deep thoughts seem to leap as I try to sleep,

Flying above I attempt to grasp,

Slips through and falls my time elapse,

Pulling me away I can't forget them today,

Resolved in earnest stop I say,

Halt the mind as it begins to unwind,

Swirling in darkness the eyes grow heavy,

Weary of thoughts I charge them to levy,

Slowly sinking I feel black approach,

Counting backwards sleep I coach,

Deep breath to calm and leave me at ease,

Bring forth a dream so I may float on a breeze
