Ebb & Flow

A feeling or thought that leaves us distraught,

To lose something dear is our greatest fear,

Hold on tight and don't let go,

Slips through fingers ebb and flow,

Salty water crash on rocky shore,

Stinging deep a pain that tore,

Ripping apart rhyme or reason,

It's just the passing of the season,

A fragile leaf tumbling in the wind,

Broken to pieces time and time again,

Until one day the light breaks through,

The clouds part and we know what we must do,

Absorb the warmth of the rising sun,

Love this life until it is done,

And even after don't ever fear,

No matter what the tide brings ever so near,

A new wave will fold a new story untold,

And even after our bodies turn cold,

There will be those who remember our ways so bold
