Split

A vision appears so brief,

Cloudy gaze other side of leaf,

Where once was split try to mend,

The domino tumble toward trend,

Was for love or lack thereof,

Care not for those abandoned in mud,

Cold steel drilled cement shield,

Here comes yellow we must yield,

For soon red arrive stumble in dive,

Accept lemons grateful to be alive,

For one day they won't taste so sour,

Bittersweet still yet far less power,

Time ripped in two some don't bother,

Some for mother and some for father,

Here is your holiday what do you say,

What do you think of braving this foray,

A gift for you I hope it pleases,

Pointless material disappointment never ceases,

Hello once again I somehow feel stranger,

Every split through heart we endanger,

This fragile thread is getting torn,

Stitch it up yet new lesions form,

Jagged edges a bleeding heart wreckage,

The sole survivor in a war of dread,

The emissary pleading for peace after all are dead,

Chopping block dry yet my body reaches for my head,

Continue to water this plant although grey and withered,

Stare at my executioner with only a smile delivered
